Driving vertical farm productivity – Zayndu CEO to present and host panel at GAIA

Vertical farming is attracting record investment, according to a recent report, with technologies such as Zayndu's cold plasma seed treatment system that are directed at producing more per unit of space and reducing the time to harvest – crucial to its success.

Food security and sustainability continue to be two very hot topics of discussion globally and are set to be a prominent focus at this week’s Global Agritech Investment Assembly (GAIA) in London. Bringing together industry leaders from all around the world, the stage is set to discuss how technology and innovation can significantly improve access to high quality food for all.

In his presentation at the Global Agritech Investment Assembly (GAIA), Zayndu CEO Ralph Weir will discuss how investment in innovative technology, such as Zayndu’s cold plasma seed treatment systems, can help vertical farm grower’s deliver significant advantages not just to their profitability but also their wider impact on the environment through reducing the reliance on harmful chemicals.

Zayndu’s cold plasma seed treatment technology focuses on delivering health and yield improvements to crops through a unique combination of air and electricity. Ralph explains “customer assessments of our machines have reported increases of up to 25%. That benefit goes straight to the grower’s bottom line, cutting energy and utility usage per kg of crop which ultimately drives profit and resilience”

Ralph says: “There has been considerable innovation in both precision agriculture and vertical farming, and I am delighted to be facilitating a panel session with leaders in both these sectors.”

The ‘Devil’s in the Detail’ panel will include:

  • James Lloyd-Jones, CEO and founder of vertical farm grower Jones Food Company
  • Thibaut Pradier, CEO of home-scale vertical farming specialist La Grangette
  • Ben Scott-Robinson, co-founder and CEO of Small Robot Company, which offers personalised care for open field plants
