What if I want to grow a new species or crop variety?
No problem! We will download new seed treatment protocols using SeedCloud, and we will then work with you to optimise them for your specific growing conditions.
How do you optimise the treatment for the species I grow?
We work with you as part of your growing team, providing you with access to our experts. Typically, we supply two “off the shelf” treatments as initial estimates for a new crop variety. These will have been tested in our growth chambers and are likely to be close to the ideal treatment. By working with your team and sharing yield data for the two protocols, our scientists and your growers work together to fine-tune the treatment, maximising the system’s benefit. The new protocols are downloaded to the system using SeedCloud—each new version can be available in seconds.
How can I evaluate the amazing yield improvements you are claiming?
We know that many of our claims are impressive and that many growers want to see it for themselves—and how it integrates into their systems. That’s why we offer a free trial program, where we will loan a system for a few months—allowing you to experience the benefits ActivatedAir™ brings.
Can you treat any crop?
Probably! We have treated 100s of varieties to date and have built a vast pool of knowledge on how to treat seeds. Sometimes it takes us a few attempts to optimise the process and get it right (sometimes we find the best protocol on our first attempt). Our basic rule is: if it will fit in the treatment drum, we can treat it and provide benefit.
After a successful evaluation, how do we implement the system in our facility?
Through the trial, we will work with you to evaluate performance on the variety of crops you grow. We’ll also discuss planting plans and identify the quantities and varieties that the system would need to process. With that in place, it is simple to ask us to provide the required capacity. Typically, there isn’t even an up-front payment, with subscriptions available monthly, annually, or longer.
Is there an upfront payment?
We like to make it easy to adopt our plasma seed priming technologies! The easiest approach is to take a monthly subscription, where we provide the service for an agreed quantity of seeds. Of course, if you subscribe for longer, there are discounts available—but there is no up-front capital cost for the system.
What if my planting plan changes?
We understand that planting plans change through the year; different crops in different seasons, and of course offtake agreements can change. We will work with you to introduce any new crops or varieties, ensuring that you continue to benefit from the yield gains the ActivatedAir™ seed priming system offers.
My customers want an audit trail for everything I’ve done—can you help?
Yes, of course! SeedCloud records the treatment applied to every batch of seeds. It demonstrates clearly that your operators applied the treatment correctly, giving high confidence in the food standards in your growing facility.
This is a new technology—should I wait for the next version when you’ve fixed the bugs?
That’s up to you… but the system is provided on a subscription. If a new feature was released, we would want to deliver that benefit as soon as possible. If it was a treatment protocol or software revision, it would be downloaded via SeedCloud automatically; if it affected hardware, we would look at upgrading customers who would benefit from that feature.
What if my demand changes through the year?
We work together to adapt to your changing needs. If your crops are seasonal, we can develop approaches that cope with the peak demand and smooth payments through the whole year. If a new contract comes in, we will work with you to increment your existing seed priming capacity, making it easier to hit those ambitious growth plans.
How quickly can I get a machine?
Typically, our lead time is 8 weeks to build a machine from start, and shipping would extend that; however, we can often supply from stock. Contact our sales team for more details.
