ActivatedAir™ trial results

In this trial, spinach treated with ActivatedAir™ was compared to an untreated control.

Three weeks after sowing, the crop was harvested, with the ActivatedAir™ treatment providing an additional 18% fresh weight.

The additional yield was the result of more rapid germination and seedling emergence, as shown in the photograph photograph on day six.

In addition, a concurrent experiment comparing the same treatments using International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) protocols for analysing seed germination showed that ActivatedAir™ seeds germinated around one day earlier than untreated seeds.

An experiment on Cantrell lettuce yielded similar yield increases as spinach.

Our plant science team have noticed that lettuce tends to have an intrinsically higher germination rate than other species. However, the pattern of emergence can be scattered over a few days.

ActivatedAir™ creates a more even pattern of emergence, which means that crops grow evenly and reach their target size for harvest much closer than untreated crops.

Similarly, ActivatedAir™ also helps basil reach its marketable yield specifications (typically 150mm plant height) by encouraging quicker and more simultaneous germination.

For the first three weeks of this experiment, the plant height ActivatedAir™ treatment is similar to the untreated. It then pulls away to produce more in specification plants, as the graph and pictures illustrate.
